In June 2023, Evelyn Chao, founder and president of PM Ready, introduced the new initiative PM Ready to Rep. John Mica, who served in the House of Representatives from 1993 to 2017, at Capitol Hill, Washington, DC.


In their conversation about the connection between project management and civic engagement, Rep. Mica praised PM Ready's goals of inspiring and empowering youth to contribute positively to their communities. Equipping youth with project management can enable youth to turn their innovative ideas into meaningful projects that can benefit society.

On June 1, 2024, the Project Management Institute Washington DC Chapter hosted its inaugural Youth Leadership Summit at Capital City Public Charter School. I was honored to be a member of the event planning group.


During the event, I delivered a keynote speech, "Project Management: A Friend for Every Youth Entrepreneur." I also joined other attendees and volunteers in completing a social service project, in which we packed 100 bags and created and decorated 100 hand-written motivational notes for families.


At the end of the summit, I received the Chapter Volunteer Award from the Chapter President. Read the PMI WDC report of the event.
